I am still on a learning curve with this blogging program. I tried uploading a bunch of pictures, but only a few posted. Then I tried anchoring the pictures, but they seem to have a mind of their own. Ugh!

One of the things I like most is painting murals in kids' rooms. Let's face it, most people just don't want me to paint a giraffe in their living room, but I can in a nursery! Of course, I have a client who had me paint French chef's on her kitchen ceiling and a trompe l'oeil rug on the floor with cupcakes and mermaids. She's sooooo much fun! "Conservative" is not in her dictionary!
One day I will blog on the work I did in her house.

So many of my clientelle are repeat clients. I had one lady who would call me about every six months and say "I saved enough money for another project!" I painted in 14 rooms in another client's house. I have become friends with many of my clients. I've had the opportunity to paint over murals I did when kids were toddlers, in order to update them when they became teenagers.

One of the things I committed to when God established this work is to pray for my clients. Some of my clients know I pray for them; others don't. Some will sit and watch me paint, and we talk about our walk with the Lord. Others ask me to pray with them. I not only get to leave a little piece of me when I leave their home, but hopefully I leave a little bit of Holy Spirit anointing too.

Nothings grabs my heart like a child who sees his/her mural on completion. "Wow" has become one of my favorite words! I would do this job for free if I didn't have a mortgage.

I don't know too many people in the business, but those few I do are in agreement about the "free". I was grateful for the time I spent in medicine, but nursing was a job. Painting is a passion. Nursing was a paycheck. Painting is a gift.
